Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh was on his campaign tour in Rajasthan on Monday. He mocked the Congress party by comparing its condition in the upcoming Rajasthan assembly elections to ‘a marriage without a groom’. He said ‘Congress ki haalat bina baraat ke dulhe jaise hai. Unhone shadi samaroh toh shuru kar liya lekin dulha kahin nahi dikhaai de raha. (They have taken out a marriage procession but the groom is nowhere to be found)

‘Has anyone seen a marriage procession in Rajasthan without the groom?’ Rajnath Singh said, while addressing a public rally in Dholpur on Monday. He further said Congress had not declared a chief ministerial candidate for the state because they knew their party would lose if they do so. Singh said, ‘Congress cannot name their leader because they know that the day they tell a name, their party in the state will be broken into pieces. They cannot muster the courage to announce their leader or the chief ministerial candidate.’

Rajnath’s hard take on the Congress

Further, he added, ‘Congress is now in the election battle but it must be asked as to whom they would make the chief minister if they form the government. They know the reality that in Rajasthan they cannot form the government. But it must be asked who their leader is?’

The 15th assembly elections will be held in Rajasthan on December 7 and the results would be declared on December 11. The state Congress has not yet named its chief ministerial candidate or the leader. Both – former chief minister Ashok Gehlot and state party president Sachin Pilot – are contesting elections and are said to be in the race to be the chief minister. But, the public is in wait to know the chief ministerial face, so that they can decide and cast their votes.
