Three Years of Modi Raj: Here’s What India Thinks about BJP’s Suraaj

It is three years since BJP Supremo Prime Minister Narendra Modi replaced India’s oldest political party in 2014. Considering the fact the Modi-led BJP has scripted its grand success in state assembly elections held in Goa, Manipur, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand, Mr. Narendra Modi will continue to be the prime ministerial candidate for the NDA in 2019 Lok Sabha elections, as well. As Modi continues to be in power at the centre, the government has faced formidable challenges in employment, national security, external affairs and women safety. Nevertheless, in political sense, BJP continues to ride on the ‘Modi Wave’.

If we look at the rich political history of India, we realize that compared to Modi, none of the Indian PMs except Nehru have enjoyed unanimous power and popularity so far. As BJP is going strong with each passing day, political experts believe it’ll continue to face weak opposition in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2019. Even former PM Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi were not as popular as Modi within first three years of their governance.

Following three successful years of Modi raj, here’s what India thinks about the PM.

“Broken Promises and Betrayal of Public Mandate”: a very ‘defeated’ Rahul Gandhi.

After the humiliating defeat in 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the INC has lost a greater part of its territory to BJP, including the states of Uttarakhand, Assam, Andhra Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Haryana, Maharashtra, Jharkhand and Kerala. However, Congress VP Rahul Gandhi still believes that “BJP has nothing to celebrate. The farmers are poor, soldiers dying and youth unemployed”.

“Modi has Tampered with EVMs in polls. Both Modi and the Election Commission are behind this conspiracy”, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal.

The ambitious Aam Aadmi Party that failed to expand its base beyond Delhi blames Modi government for their defeat. Despite accumulating just a handful of votes against Modi in Varanasi, Arvind Kejriwal believes that BJP is plotting a dangerous conspiracy against AAP. Their leaders have imposed a threat to the Indian constitution.

“Modi ka Jungle Raaj”: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar.

After successfully scoring in the 2015 Bihar assembly elections, Bihar convener Nitish Kumar was regarded as a strong opponent to Modi. Nevertheless, in-house conflicts and corruption charges against JDU-RJD alliance have tarnished Kumar’s image in Bihar. Nitish, who vehemently accuses Modi for ‘jungle raaj’ (rampant governance) has clearly failed to maintain peace and order in Bihar. Consequently, BJP made a striking come back in the Panchayat and municipal elections.

“Modi has Implanted Yogi to Eliminate Muslims from UP”: former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav (SP) and Leader of Opposition Mayawati (BSP).

Both Akhilesh Yadav and Mayawati who never saw an eye-to-eye in Uttar Pradesh found a common ground against Modi and Yogi. Both regional parties believe that Modi government will try to raise ‘Ayodhya Ram Mandir’ and ‘Triple Talaq’ issue to impose a threat to the Muslim population in Uttar Pradesh.

“Narendra Modi can get me Murdered”: TMC chief and Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee.

A ‘scared’ Mamata feels threatened by PM Narendra Modi, ever since the local BJP MLAs in Bengal have started resurging in the state. “All words and no actions”, it best fits Mamata’s situation. She clearly failed to prove her charges against Modi government, May it be demonetization or communal riots in the country.

  • 81% people think that India has gained global reputation due to PM Modi’s efforts.

That pretty much sums up the reaction of opposition as well as the public. Considering these statements and survey results, it’s safe to say that Modi continues to enjoy unparalleled power in Indian politics in the present scenario.
