The Rajasthan state budget 2018 was indeed a budget of dreams. It is a comprehensive budget which has factored in all sectors and activities, encompassing people from all walks of life, From education to infrastructure, to transportation to economic food supply, the state budget is an amalgamation of a myriad of factors, like never before.

Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje announced a budget of Rs 1,000 crore for the construction of 97-km pipeline from Bisalpur to Balawala. This will help in boosting the levels of drinking water of the state capital.

In the light of plummeting levels of damn water, this proposal comes as a benison. Moreover, due to the decreasing levels of water, the public health and engineering department (PHED) is also struggling with meeting water demand needs across the city of Jaipur. In such times of decreasing water supply, the announcement of Bisalpur pipeline was the need of the hour.

Also, CM Raje announced a Parvan-Akavad drinking water project. The project will receive an allocation of Rs 365 crore for the same. This water project will supply drinking water in Dungurpur-Aaaspur and Dovara regions. This project is expected to benefit tens of thousands of people of the concerned region. It’s benefits is expected to reach 151 villages and 244 hamlets.

Another project to quench the water demands of the Baran region is also in the pipeline. A sum of Rs 55 crore will be spent for the same.

Moreover, the water crisis in the state will be met by other sources too. The state government has sanctioned 100 hand pumps in each constituency. Additionally, 500 new RO plants will be established to facilitate safe and qualitative drinking water.

This is not all. The PHED is expected to commence Gararda and Jhaliji Ka Barana. However, the works of this will start after an allocation spend of 186 crore. It will supply water in 111 villages and 91 hamlets. This project will supply drinking water to over 3 lakh residents of the surrounding region.
