Ahead of the State Assembly Elections scheduled for later this year, National People’s Party MLA Kirodi Lal Meena joined BJP leading to some major changes on the political front. There are just two major parties namely BJP and Congress to contest elections, the possibility of a third front emerging in the state now seems to be a distant reality, especially after Kirodi has re-joined the saffron party. kirodi lal meena

Until now, Kirodi lal Meena alongside other prominent leaders like Hanuman Beniwal,  Randhir Singh Bhindar, Manikchand Surana with BJP MLA Ghanshyam Tiwari were working towards establish a third front in the state that would be competing against both BJP and Congress. Kirodi Meena had announced to for the third front with Hanuman Beniwal. Besides, Randhir had also revealed his plans about the third front by organizing various meetings at several occasions. kirodi lal meena

However, when Kirodi, who had left BJP in 2008, decided to re-join the party, this development made it quite clear that things might not go as per the plans. Apart from him, his wife Golma Devi along with another MLA Gita Verma has joined the Saffron party.

In fact, not just these three but Manikchand and Randhir Singh are now willing to join BJP soon. Although there hasn’t been an official confirmation of the same but reports suggest that CM Raje has assured the two of complete support and ticket for upcoming elections.

Now the probability of forming a third front is rested with BJP MLA Ghanshyam Tiwari and Hanuman Beniwal. Since Ghnashyam Tiwari is not happy with the BJP party, he had talked about joining a third front on several occasions but now as the practicality of the idea has been challenged by the recent turn of events, the MLA is not commenting anything on the same. kirodi lal meena

On the other hand, NPP’s Naveen Pilania and Hanuman Beniwal are still adamant on forming the third front and have refused to join any other party. However, some political veterans and experts believe that since Beniwal has a limited influence over just 2-3 constituencies of Nagore, he would ultimately join a big party in future.

Overall, this chain of events has clearly made it obvious that there is no other party powerful enough to challenge BJP and Congress in Rajasthan.  With just 8 months left for the assembly elections in the state, the third front seems to be a distant reality, at least, as of now.
