Rajasthan will go to Lok Sabha Elections in 2 phases, results on 23 May

The Election Commission has announced the dates for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. The announcement was made today by Chief Election Commissioner Sunil Arora. The EC announced that the 2019 general elections will be fought in seven phases. Rajasthan will go to polls for Lok Sabha in two phases.

Polling for the 2019 Lok Sabha elections will be held for nearly a month, from April 11 to May 19. The date of counting for the Lok Sabha elections will be May 23.

The first phase will be held on April 11, second on April 11, third on April 23 and fourth on April 29, fifth on May 6, sixth on May 12 and seventh phase on May 19.

Rajasthan will vote to elect 25 MPs to the 17th Lok Sabha in the fourth and fifth phases of the Lok Sabha elections. Rajasthan will vote on April 29 and May 6.
On April 29, 13 Lok Sabha constituencies from Rajasthan will go to elections. On May 6, the remaining Rajasthan Lok Sabha constituencies will vote to elect the next Indian government.

Rajasthan is a significant state from the electoral perspective as 4,84,79,229 voters come from the state.

The recently held state assembly elections in Rajasthan saw the Congress wave work, with the party forming the government in the state. If the state assembly elections are any indication, then the key issues in Rajasthan continue to be agrarian distress, unemployment, and other welfare schemes.

While the key contenders in the state continue to be the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Congress. At present, all 25 Lok Sabha MPs from Rajasthan are from the BJP.
