Rajasthan state and Bovine Animaal Act: Eases rules for the trading of Nagori Bulls

    In Rajasthan, several cases of violence on the account of bovine smuggling and animal slaughter have come up.  There are people who claimed themselves to be animal protectors and took lives off innocent. Undoubtedly, cow slaughter is a big issue in the state of Rajasthan but it is equally important to know the reality of such cases. Hence, state government has applied several rules for animal safety and people’s safety as well. In fact, the state also has Rajasthan Bovine Animal (Prohibition of Slaughter and Regulation of Temporary Migration or Export) Act for the safety of bovine.

    There is a species of bull in Rajasthan called Nagori. As they are used in ploughing so this species of bulls are high in demand.  Earlier, there were strong regulations about trading of these calves but the state cabinet earlier this month amended the Rajasthan Bovine Animal (Prohibition of Slaughter and Regulation of Temporary Migration or Export) Act. It has allowed trading of Nagori bull calves over two years of age. But this time, the government is planning to bring some rules for trading the calves.     Nagori bull calves are likely to have a stamp of approval of the Rajasthan government. Hence, only stamped animals will be traded.

    Only specific species of bovine can be traded intra-state and inter-state. There are cases where other breeds are also traded as Nagori calves. Nagori Bulls 

    It is also planned that these calves only to those states that have cow slaughter laws in place and the buyer will have to show the undertaking that the animal is being transported for farming purposes. Nagori Bulls

    As the name suggests, these are the bulls traced to the Nagaur district of Rajasthan. Nagori is a bovine species bigger than other species. A pair of Nagori bull costs around Rs 500,000. Nagori Bulls

    She said there is a demand from animal sellers and farmers to relax rules about selling of animals. In absence of cattle fairs and other platforms, the illegal trading of animals started. So, the government has decided to ease the norms of Rajasthan Bovine Animal (Prohibition of Slaughter and Regulation of Temporary Migration or Export) Act. But proper measures will be taken to avoid any crime with animals. Nagori Bulls
