Rajasthan education department is planning to introduce the first-of-its-kind mother-teacher meetings in state government schools, along the lines of private schools. According to pediatric counselors, parent-teacher meetings always get good response from the parents, especially if they’re organized in government schools. Last year, Raje government directed the school administration to hold parent-teacher meetings in schools at every new moon. This move attracted attention and plenty of parents turned up at schools to receive their wards’ progress reports. The meeting will be held according to the instructions of DISE (District Information System for Education).
Considering the overwhelming response from the parents, the state government will introduce the unique concept of mother-teacher meeting for this academic session. If the political leaders are to be believed, mothers are a major influence on young kids. Their presence is important for invoking positive skills, learning and ethics in a child.
Finding this reason practical, the education department has invited 40 lakh mothers across the state to meet the teachers of their wards. This unique mother-teacher meeting will be held in 69,700 schools and the mothers of about 65 lakh students will participate in this endeavor.
Rajasthan education minister Vasudev Devnani is positive regarding the outcomes of this meeting. Devnani believes that holding such interactions at regular time intervals will improve learning outcomes in children. Moreover, the mothers can effectively respond to the suggestions made by teachers when they stay in touch with them.
This is just one of the few major reformations proposed by Rajasthan government in the education system. Scholarship for higher education is a priority on government’s agenda this year. The government will offer up to Rs 12,000 to meritorious students in tribal dominated areas like Sirohi, Udaipur, Banswara and Pratapgarh. Moreover, they’ve announced cash prizes for toppers of PMT, IIT and IAS/RAS examinations.
Besides these, the technological interventions made by Rajasthan government, such as introducing satellite classrooms for delivering concepts in English, science and math will change the academic pedagogy. This way, both teachers and students will get acquainted with modern techniques, which will have a positive effect on school results. This has certainly got thousands of students excited in the state!
