Following a week-long intense discussion on Rajasthan budget, on the last day of Budget session 2017 CM Vasundhara Raje presented an account of state expenditures, schemes and reforms in her appropriation speech. Three years down the memory lane, Raje came to power in 2013, aiming at implementing Vision 2020—a dream for transforming Rajasthan and accelerating growth in key sectors. Keeping this mission in mind, Team Rajasthan took momentous steps toward Rajasthan’s development.
Rajasthan’s Expenditure Surpass the National Average by 8%
Having said this, the CM discussed the statistics mentioned in CAG reports. Compared to 2011-12 (35-57%), the capital expenditure for 2012-2013 (50.06%) witnessed a percentage increase of 50.06%. This highlights adequacy, effectiveness and efficiency in quality of expenditure.
In 2015-2016, compared to other states (16-05%) the expenditure GSDP of Rajasthan is 24-45%, which is 8% more than the national average. Despite economic challenges, the current government has performed better in terms of GSDP and Cumulative Sectroral Allocations Absolute.
Expressing her gratitude towards Team Rajasthan and 7 crore natives of state, who’ve helped her accomplish major milestones in last few years; CM Raje announced major reformations in the state.
In Coming Days Rajasthan is in for Great Developments in Following Sectors
- Finance
The amnesty scheme introduced by state revenue department yielded positive results last year, which is why, the government, will launch this scheme for excise department and collection of luxury & entertainment taxes. The ITC verification process will be simplified. The new registration fee for rent deed, leave & license agreement will be 20% of the stamp duty.
- Infrastructure
Rs 197 crore sanctioned for construction of 106-kilometre long roads and bridges. This includes Banswada-Dungarpur-Boreshwar bridge, Moran river bridge and roads connecting Kanal-Malyakheda, Jaloda-Chittorgarh, Canod-Lapod-Kenpura-Rani-Mundra and Karauli-Kela Devi.
- Healthcare
To accommodate more patients, the bed-capacity of the following hospitals will be increased: Shahpura Jaipur Trauma Centre (100 beds), Deedwana Hospital (300), Pawta & Viratnagar CHC (50). Dabok PHC will be merged with CHC.
- Public Health Engineering
DPR and feasibility report preparation for resolving water crisis in Kasaotiya dam (Vallabhnagar) and Nimbaheda.
- Tourism, Art & Culture
A museum will be constructed at Mangadh Dham to honour Sri Guru Gobind Singh. The government will allots Rs 5 crore for its development. New panorama spots will be made for Pannadhay (Rajsamand), Alibaksh (Alwar), Veer Tejaji (Kharnal), Hadauti (Baran), Swatantra Sangraam (Pali), Karni Mata (Bikaner) and Maawji Maharaj (Dungarpur). Rs. 6 crore will be allotted for drainage facilities.
- Forest
Fortification of Aamli forest block (Ranthambore), conservation reserve will be developed in Jhunjhunu’s Khetdi tehsil, Rs 15 crore separately deposited in wildlife fund for security in Sariska, Jhalana and Mukundara forest reserves. Under fuelwood free village scheme, 44,000 families received gas connection on 100% subsidy. This year, 50,000 more families will get its benefits. This will prevent poaching in tiger-inhabited forest.
- Higher Education
New colleges will be constructed in Toda Raisingh (Tonk), Khanpur (Jhalawad), Seemalwaada (Dungarpur), Pokharan (Jaisalmer). New chemical laboratory will be made at Chomu’s Kaladera College.
- LSG
95 urban divisions will have new firefighting vehicles and gear worth 23 crores. Aerial hydraulic ladder platforms will be installed to prevent fire damage in skyscrapers. Rs 450 crores will be allotted for repair of urban Gaurav Paths. Rs 150 crore will be allotted for Shahpura, Bheelwada and Jaipur sewerage and drinking water supply.
- Pilgrimage
Government will do repair and maintenance of roads connecting major tourist spots like Sri Diggi Kalyan ji, Khatushyam Ji, Mehendipur Balaji, Matukundiya, Rupnarayan Sewantri, Bharatpur Govardhan temple.
- IT
Last year the government introduced 23,000 Micro ATMs in state. This year, they’ll train e-mitra wardens and traders in digital technologies by handling them 10,000 tabs and POS machines. Jaipur will be developed as Smart city.
Besides this, the government has plenty of tricks up its sleeves that will ensure all-round development of Rajasthan.
