The revealing of Nirav Modi cheating case and the Mehul Choksi fraudulent company operations prompted ED to sieze their material assets like high-end cars, freeze mutual funds worth Rs 94.52 crores of the money launderers duo.
The two businessmen are claimed to be allegedly involved in the Rs 11,400-crore at the Punjab National Bank (PNB). The investigation against him encompassed seizing nine cars worth Rs 6 crores. The cars include a Rolls Royce Ghost, a Mercedes Benz, a Porsche Panamera, a Toyota Fortuner, three Honda variants, and an Innova.
These assets were seized during the raids conducted at the properties of these businessmen last week. Moreover, they have been seized under the criminal provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).
Shares and mutual funds worth Rs 86.72 crores ofMehul Choksi and his group are seized. Gitanjali Gems and other prime jewellery brands are being helmed by Mehul Choksi.
Both Modi and Choski had left the country a month before FIR’s were filed.

It was only after the complaint by PNB that the investigation commotion has begun and is now not seemingly ending any sooner.
With new facts being revealed every day, unknown claims and fresh clarifications the investigative procedure has become the fodder for the media, for more than a week now.
Last week, Modi said that his wife, uncle, and brother are not involved or aware of any of his dealings with the PNB. He also slammed the bank for creating a fiasco in haste. Additionally, he insisted that he pays salary to his 2200 employees through the current account of the company, which has the required balance.
What came in as a shocking claim was that Nirav Modi said that the amount owed to PNB is much less than what the bank claims.
What direction would this case take is the larger question is a mystery which would seemingly take a long time to unravel.
