Rajasthan Government’s Ambitious Scheme Nyay Aapke Dwar will Aim at Solving Revenue related Cases Pending since Quite a Long Time…

Famous English author William Shakespeare’s play ‘Romeo and Juliet quotes a widespread saying, What’s there in a name? A rose by any other name would smell as sweet. The poetic minds may agree with this thought, but things don’t work this way in real world, for Kaluram, at least. Kaluram is a small-scale farmer residing in Tonk, Rajasthan. In 1985, Kaluram’s father Kishanlal Gurjar bought 5.06 Bigha land in Tonk. By mistake, Kaluram’s father entered his name as Laluram—a blunder if you call it that way.

Since last 32 years, Kaluram has been circling government offices, in the hopes of getting his name corrected on public records. Due to one silly mistake, Kaluram was unable to avail the benefit of government schemes, KCC (Kisan Credit Card), crop loans and other agriculture-related schemes. For three decades, Laluram was deprived of government benefits. Nevertheless, Nyay Aapke Dwar campaign by Rajasthan government came as a blessing in disguise for the poor farmer.

The first day of Nyay Aapke Dwar 2017 restored Kaluram’s real name and identity. In a camp organized at Arniyakedar this Monday, Kaluram approached subdivision officer Dr. Negi in this regard. After thorough inspection and discussion with village Sarpanch and public representatives, the camp in-charge verified his complaint and corrected his name from Laluram to Kaluram.

That’s not all! Two years back in 2015, when Rajasthan government introduced Revenue Lok Adalats under Nyay Aapke Dwar campaign, several farmers and folks from BPL families were benefited in 523 Gram Panchayats. State government officers organized 28,387 public camps to resolve 70 lakh cases in Rajasthan.

This year too, Rajasthan government was braced to organize revenue camps under Nyay Aapke Dwar in different districts. With this, the government was prepared to organize Shahri Jan Kalyan Shivir and Deendayal Upadhyaya Gramin Patta Vitran Abhiyan (Deendayal Upadhyaya Rural Lease Distribution Campaign).

One the first day of Nyay Aapke dwar campaign, things turned a little sour in Barmer. About 4500 government officers including Patwari, Tehsildars, Girdaawar etc boycotted these revenue camps to protest against government.

The officers responsible for the mess put forth 11 demands before the government which includes amendment in pay scale, setting fixed criteria for senior citizenship and recruiting officers on vacant posts. Lack of cooperation from public officers may hamper the progress of Lok Adalats and public camps here. The government will have to look into this matter.

Contrary to this, things went smooth in Sriganganagar. The officers solved 59 pending revenue-related cases on first day. Having accomplished success in this case, Raje government looks forward to resolving similar cases in remaining districts of Rajasthan. The popularity of this scheme will yield positive outcomes for BJP in upcoming Rajasthan state assembly elections 2018.
