In the light of increasing threat and spread of Swine Flu, Rajasthan government has decided to open a new laboratory for the convenience of patients for Swine Flu Testing.. The new laboratory will be opened at the Jaipuria Hospital.
The dreadful wave of Swine Flu recently killed two people, one in Jaipur and another succumbed to death in Kota. A total of 62 others were tested positive for swine flu in the state. However, only 25 persons were tested positive in Jaipur. The decision to build a new laboratory was announced by Health minister Kalicharan Saraf on Thursday with a view to providing adequate and effective services to swine flu patients.
Benefits of new laboratory
Not only this, Jaipuria hospital will now be able to get reports within 12 hours, contrary to 24 hours which used to happen earlier. The able government led by CM Vasundhara Raje is mulling various ways of revitalising the health care department. For this purpose, it has constituted a three-member committee. This committee will direct its efforts towards ensuring that the private hospitals are providing effective swine flu testing facilities to its patients.
Expenditure and other numbers
The laboratory will be built at a total expenditure of Rs 2 crores. It will be built and constructed by the next three months. Rajasthan University of Health Sciences will provide Rs 1 crore for the laboratory. The other half amount will be provided by Members of Parliament Local Area Development (MPLAD), which is to be provided by Jaipur MP Ramcharan Bohra.
Swine flu testing facilities in Jaipur
Currently, the pink city has a swine flu testing facility in Sawai Man Singh Hospital. Samples collected at the Jaipuria Hospital are also collected and sent to SMS Hospital for testing. However, after this laboratory will be built, the Jaipuria hospital will have its own testing facility.
