GATE (General Aptitude Test in Engineering) has brought a proud moment for Pink City, Jaipur dweller, Harsh Gupta. The results were rolled out on Sunday and Harsh scored the first rank in it.
In the month February, the exam was organized by the HRD minister. Harsh Gupta is student of final year in chemical engineering at Malviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur.
In some past years’ records, he is the first student from Jaipur, who excelled in a leading national exam of the country.
Further this, Harsh wants to carry research activities in the biofuels. For this, he has chosen, National University of Singapore. He explained it like, “Future generations will have to rely on biofuels for sustenance. Research in this area will shape the future of the world. I am hoping to get admission at the Singapore university which is among the best in the world for research in biofuels”.
Like any other aspiring student, he directed his wishes and credits to his parents saying that, “They always supported me in what I wanted to do in my life.”
His father, Santosh Kumar Gupta is an associate professor in statistics in Rajasthan University.
He completed his schooling from Jaipuria School and has a bright record of academics. He did not rely on any out of the way success mantra and gave his most time to his notes and textbooks. Harsh says, “I took coaching for some months besides taking help from subject teachers”.
GATE scores are necessary for admissions in many post-graduate programmes and thus scoring high in them open ways to many possibilities. With this, he can acquire space in many renowned international universities.
GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) is an all-India exam which is conducted for science and engineering students. With this, they assess the understanding of students in many UG level subjects.
