
This piece of news will make your shoulders swell with pride – Manoj Srivastava, a Jaipur based professor has broke eight world records to grab a position in the coveted Limca Book of World Records. This man has sure got it all to stun you.
A 180 kgs weighing bread, a 14-foot-long pie, a sugar cube structure made of 14,353 smaller cubes and a ‘maalpua’ covering an area of 32 square feet.

A professor by profession, Srivastava activated his love for baking and achieved an unprecedented feat. The Jaipur man has been accredited with a “doctorate” from the UK-based World Records University that claims to honour record breakers.
49 years old, Srivastava made his first world record in 2008 by creating the world’s biggest piece of bread, weighing 180 kilos. The bread was huge and had to be picked up by a crane.
Manoj said that he made the world’s biggest pie in 2013 with the help of 60 students in 12 hours. The pie which was 14 feet long and 6 feet wide and weighed 365 kgs took almost 6 hours to bake.
With 8 world records in total, Manoj has recorded the maximum number of entries in the Limca book of World recods. Moreover, the “honorary doctorate” in record breaking has been awarded to as less as 13 people, and Manoj being one of them – It could not have been better!
In 2014, Manoj with the help of 11 students created the cube structure. “It contained 14,353 cubes of sugar. It was five feet long and five feet wide and was made in three days with a team of 11 students,” he said.
‘Moussaka’ – a Greek Dish weighed 800 kg and was 12 feet long and 6 feet wide. He also baked a ‘maalpua’ weighing 62 kgs, and an 8 feet long and 4 feet wide Italian ‘Socca’ flatbread – all these dishes have got a mention in the Limka book of World Records.
“Whenever I am planning to break a world record, it needs a lot of research and months go in the process. Like there is a thrill when attempting such a feat, there is also a strange experience with its success,” the record-breaker said.
“After doing sufficient research on the proposed product, a proposal is sent to international office of Guinness Book or Limca Book of World Records for approval,” he added.
Srivastava, who has an MBA degree in tourism is currently working as head of the School of Hotel Management at Manipal University’s Jaipur campus.
