Jaipur To Give “Stray Dog Management” Tips to Opulent Cities like Chandigarh

    Chandigarh which is the cleanest and the first planned city of the country is seeking tips from the Pink City. The city is going under mismanagement of stray dogs and looks forward to the management cretieria of the Jaipur city. Jaipur authorizes has succeded in lowering the stray dog population. The reports say that, in past 10 years, there has not been a single case of dog-bite.

    UT administrator, VP Singh, Badnore and the Punjab government will soon have a conference organized to discuss over the issue.

    Badnore also mentioned that, “dog management” needs to be the priority of the city authorities. He mentioned, “I will not call it a menace, it has to be dog management. When I was MP, I had said two things, dogs and monkeys, they are not menace, but they need to be managed”.

    In the upcoming conferencve, they look forward to advice from the top performers and experts who achieved success in curbing the dog population in the cities. Badnore has previously led the special task force to reintegrate the tigers in the Sariska in 2005-2009.

    He also mentioned, “We are going to hold a conference here, in which we will bring all stakeholders together”.

    The mayor of Chandigarh, Asha Kumari who met Badnore and had talks on many issues related to city mentioned, “experts from Jaipur and other places will share their views and throw light on how the stray dog problem can be effectively tackled”.

    Jaipur has always been an active city in the animal management. In the year 1994, the city was the first to start an animal birth control programme. This was based on the WHO guidelines.

    To further deal with the stinging issue of stray dogs, the municipal coerporations of the cities, Mohali, Chandigarh and Panchkula have associated together.

    With an ideal management and policies, Jaipur is becoming a paradigm for many other cities out there.
