Rajasthan that has been leading the flagship of skill development and quality education since last two years bags major achievements in academics this year. Commencement of placement seasons in technical institutes had raised expectations amidst state colleges. Fortunately, the state kicked off with better results than last years. This year’s placements brought happiness in the form of high salary packages. The highest salaries offered so far were Rs. 29 lakh that were offered to two students, one from MNIT (Malviya National Institute of Technology) and another from IIT Jodhpur.
Students’ Expectations Raise as Biggies Participate in Placement Fest
Last year’s most expensive recruiter Amazon offered a sum of Rs. 21 lakh per annum to students. This year, they’ve raised the stakes to Rs. 25 lakh. Likewise, more than 70 companies have revised their family packages. According to S. L. Soni, Chief Placement Officer at MNIT, more than 70 companies are expected to participate in this large-scale recruitment drive.
Despite foreign investors and corporate giants offering luscious annual packages, most students prefer jobs in PSUs (Public Sector Undertakings). Government jobs bait IT professionals and engineers with ‘stability factor’ and ‘job security’. Just two of the PSUs have visited various campuses by far. Why do students prefer PSUs? Because they offer them good job profile and pay packages. Some of them sponsor higher studies and there are additional perks like free accommodations, transportation etc. Therefore, PSU jobs are hottest options among students.
The coming year, colleges are expecting biggies like BSNL (Bharat Sanchaar Nigam Limited), HPCL (Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited) and BPCL (Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited). Other than these, other Indian private and public companies have revised their placement conditions and pay offers. Some have even raised their number of vacancies. So far, about 310 students from MNIT have been appointed at good positions. According to Soni, approximately 80% of students have found excellent placements, which is a major goal accomplished by government.
With this, Rajasthan youths have raised the bar for their juniors. Companies will look forward to better talents and performances in future.
