As the city’s development quotient is reaching new heights, the state aviation ministry has resolved to make it easier for passengers to travel at heights. Quite literally!
The chief secretary Ashok Jain has forwarded the proposal to the civil aviation. As per the letter addressed to the civil aviation ministry, the launching of six intra-air services on six routes is being planned. The state government has nodded to the proposal of launching direct connectivity flights on six new routes.
New Air-routes
Jaipur-Kota, Delhi-Sawai Madhopur, Delhi-Kishangarh, Delhi-Shri Ganganagar, Jodhpur-Ahmedabad and Jaipur- Jodhpur- Jaisalmer.
Currently, air services are being provided for three routes covering Jaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner and Udaipur. These air services were launched by CM Raje in October 2016.
Letter to Secretary to the civil aviation
Here is an excerpt from the letter written by Ashok Jain to Rajiv Nararyan Choubey, secretary to the civil aviation: “In accordance with the Budget announcement made by the chief minister and requirements received from various districts in Rajasthan, state government in principle agreed to operate intrastate services on following routes in addition to three routes.”
The letter has been written in the wake of CM Raje’s budget announcement for expanding air-routes.
Not only this, Jain is interested in fast tracking the process of air-route expansion. The letter reflected fast paced working on the end of Rajasthan government to make expansion plans a reality.
The letter said that immediately after completion of all formalities and receipts of mandatory approvals. A no objection certificate (NOC) shall also be received by the air operator from respective organizations.

The benefits of expanding air routes will boost tourism from not only Delhi but Ajmer also. Tourists from Delhi can easily travel to Ajmer and Gujarat. This will boost businesses and tourists across the concerned area. Tourists experience is all set to become more feasible and seamless after the expansion plans become a reality.
