Impressively, close to 2,800 litres of milk is fetched from cows at the Hingonia cow shelter on a daily basis. The milk is sold to neighborhoods, villagers, and distributed across the market. People purchase desi cow milk for Rs 80 per litre and normal milk at Rs 50 per litre.

“We are developing a mechanised dairy system for packaging and chilling up to 5,000 litres per day. A new machine has also been purchased to milch the cows in a batch of 12. From mid-April, we would launch our packaged milk like Saras,” Radha Priya Das, in-charge of Hingonia gaushala said.

Sooner than later, notable milk dairy Saras will be selling milk packaged by Hingonia gaushala. The foundation has partnered with JMC for creating synergy and bolstering its business expansion. Owing to the reports of cattle deaths in massive numbers at the gaushala, JMC decided to associate with the foundation and protect cows.

As far as cattle death figures are concerned, the number has significantly reduced in past one year. As per the figures provided by gaushala administration, cattle deaths have plummeted vastly. Now, they have to accommodate more than 22,000 abandoned bovines. This requires almost double its land capacity.

Currently, the gaushala earns a revenue of Rs 28 lakh per month via its selling business in milk and milk related products. The foundation is accelerating its operations and expanding its milk distribution. The foundation hopes to double its revenue by selling packaged milk.
