Rajasthan’s youth is its top most priority. The Rajasthan government has undeniably identified that the youth is the fulcrum for state’s developments. To unlock and unleash youth’s power along with promoting sustainable development, Rajasthan will now train youths in sectors like renewable energy, green construction and water management.
To bolster this purpose, the State government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Skill Council for Green Jobs which will not only open lucrative job opportunities for the youth but also empower them.
National Occupational Standards (NOS) are being developed in Rajasthan for the same. This initiative is driven by the agenda of skill development of youths.
The list of focussed sectors is not just limited to renewable energy, green construction and water management. A total of 16 other sectors will be added to the list, as per reports.
Not only this, a special curriculum has been designed for the trainees who will be assessed and certified after the completion of the training period.
However, the Council is yet to approve the curriculum before declaring the commencement date for the trainees to start the programme. To make learning more effective, selected institutes will be accredited for the purpose of transmitting skill sets to trainees.
This project has been curated on the back of water shortage and non-presence of river water.
An official privy to the development said that water-related trades which lay huge impetus on water conservation and treatment will get high priority under the MoU.
Additionally, upcoming skill universities in the state will be equipped with a state-of-art Green Sector Centre of Excellence. Besides, another such centre for solar and advanced electrical solar energy will also be established.
This project will usher in a slew of environmental benefits blended with the virtue of sustainability. Environment protection, greenhouse gas emissions will be checked, reduction of waste and pollution, restoration of the ecosystem are amongst the many benefits which will come into play through this project.
