It is the good news for Bhamashah Yojana beneficiaries that the government of Rajasthan will increase the Bhamashah health cover from Rs 3 Lakh to Rs 5 Lakh. For the cover increment in Bhamashah Swasthya Beema Yojana, Rajasthan government has signed the MoU with the central government. Now the Bhamashah Swasthya Beema Yojana will be merged with Ayushman Bharat program.

The state government has started working on finalizing the modalities for implementation of the MoU. According to the officials, it may take a little time to complete the process. CM Vasundhara Raje government is running it’s Bhamashah Swasthya Beema Yojana (BSBY) since 2015.

Rajasthan is one of the few states in the country, which has launched an insurance scheme to provide cashless treatment to the people.

People will get more benefit after the merger

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Ayushman Bharat on September 23 in the entire country. The program is also known as Pradhan Mantri Jan Ayogya Yojana (PMJAY). Meanwhile, CM Raje’s BSBY is already providing cashless treatment to the identified families covered under the National Food Security Act.

However, Ayushman Bharat covers the people coming under the Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC) database.  Moreover, there is no restriction on family size, age or gender. So the similarity can be seen in BSBY and Ayushman Bharat.

There are some common features in the two schemes like cashless facility under BSBY and both of them cover the number of diseases. BSBY is giving the cover of Rs 3 Lakh while the central government’s Ayushman Bharat is giving Rs 5 Lakh. Therefore the people of Rajasthan will get more benefit.

Hence the CM of Rajasthan is working in every possible favor of the people of the state, the merger is here to provide more benefit. Rajasthan government’s Bhamashah Swasthya Beema Yojana has already benefitted more than 4.5 lakh people in the state.
