These famous Rajasthani Women are making their marks and not only at the national level but internationally as well. As the whole world has acknowledged and recognized the true talents of these women, here is the list of some Famous Rajasthani Women who have proved their mettle to the world:

Chanda Kochhar

This 55-year old lady who was born in Jodhpur city of Rajasthan is reigning the business world with her impeccable leadership skills and intelligence. Serving as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of ICICI Bank, Kochhar is a world renowned personality who was recently included in the Forbes’ list of Powerful Women. She is also the first Indian woman to have received the Woodrow Wilson Award for Global Citizenship.

Tanushree Pareek

Hailing from Rajasthan’s Bikaner city, Tanushree has made her own identity in the male dominated society. In 2014, she qualified the UPSC Assistant Commandant Examinations to become the first Woman Assistant Commandant in 40 years, creating a History.

She is currently serving as the brand ambassador of ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ campaign in the state. Besides, she is also involved in spreading awareness about woman empowerment in the rural areas along the border. Famous Rajasthani Women

Gulabo

Born in the Kalbaliya community, Gulabo Sapera, aka Gulabo, is a dancer belonging to Rajasthan who has given the dance form a new identity. She has showcased her Kaalbaliya dance form at various national as well as international platforms. Gulabo was buried alive soon after she was born as her father didn’t have enough money to marry off his daughters and he already had 3 daughters.

However, she was later rescued by her aunt and today she has successfully embarked a career completely with her talent.  In the year 2016, the lady was honored with Padma Shri by the Government of India. She had also appeared in the reality show Big Boss in the year 2011. Famous Rajasthani Women

Krishna Punia

XIX Commonwealth Games-2010 Delhi: Krishna Poonia of India won the Gold medal in Women’s Discus event, at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, in New Delhi on October 11, 2010.

Krishna Punia is an Indian discus thrower who made the country proud by bagging gold medal in the 2010 Commonwealth Games organized in Delhi, with a throw of 61.51 metres. She is the first Indian to win a gold medal at such an event and also the first Indian woman to win the gold in track and field events. Although she was born in Haryana, she completed her studies in Psychology from the Kanodia Girls College in Jaipur. Currently she lives in Jaipur with her husband as both of them work for the Indian Railways.

Apurvi Chandela

Born on January 1993 in Jaipur, Apurvi Chandela is an Indian shooter who bagged the gold medal in 2014 Commonwealth Games, Glasgow. Apart from this, she also won four medals at the Intershoot Championsips at Hague. She received the prestigious Arjun Award in 2016 for her excellent performance. Besides, she even qualified for the 2016 Rio Olympics for the women’s 10m air rifle event.

Ila Arun

Born in Jodhpur and brought up in Jaipur, Ila Arun is famous for her folk singing as well as folk-pop fusion. Having an unconventional voice, she has won many hearts throughout her career. She also acts, writes and directs. Her performance in Jodha Akbar as Maham Anga was critically acclaimed. Not only Rajasthani and Hindi, this singer has sung numerous songs in Tamil and Telugu.
