Again, opposition leaders are in traumatic mode about the Union Budget presentation on February 1. The date is three days prior to the very first phase of Assembly elections in five states. Ghulam Nabi Azad, Congress leader said, “It will provide an opportunity to the government to make populist announcements to influence voters”.
Saying this, Azad has spanked the government. After the Union Budget presented after the state elections in 2007 and 2012, there were two precedents in the year 2007 and 2009. To keep the government deprived from conducting any populist route before the time of elections that a “model code of conduct” is practiced, that runs at right time. But, both PM Modi and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley seemed to pay any attention on the idea of budget advancement from February end to February first week after the announcement of polls to the Assemblies of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Manipur and Goa on Wednesday.
Government has been in continuous talks about the matter from September of 2016. Also, economists are constantly making count the benefits of early budget. But, hardly saw any word war from opposition side that time. They were dead and dumb during this whole interval and is suddenly attacking with their almighty.
At that time, we saw opposition parties mostly blabbering about Pakistan surgical strikes”.
But, amidst this whole suddenly created chaos, they must realise that, India is not made of just these four states. Budget decides the economy of whole country and is not the matter of just these five states. May be its hard for them imagine this, as a business person always pay maximum attention on his potential market and not on whole world. Likewise, these politicians can imagine everything which relates to their vote bank and nothing else.
Also, on September 21, government also talked about the inevitable benefits of early budget. As per their statement, an early budget will assist companies, departments and individuals to plan and execute a better financial picture.
