The Phogat sisters are the ‘Youth Icons’ for Jaipuria Institute of Management, in a 2-day international conference dedicated to Youth Empowerment…
Youths serve as the backbone of the society. Brimming with energy, innovative ideas, creativity, courage and immense talents, they’ve the potential to change the future of any country. Therefore, youth empowerment is one of the major concerns of the governments, educational institutions and public groups. Since schools, colleges and universities are the places that shape a youngster’s future, it’s essential that they get proper guidance there.
Judging by the mentality of the youngsters, most of them look for inspiration in popular faces like sportsmen, actors/actresses and business tycoons. They may not pay attention to parental counselling, but they’re all ears for celebrity speeches and gossips. This is why the academic institutions arrange special celebrity sessions to motivate the youngsters.
This time, it’s the Jaipuria Institute of Management that has invited the Phogat sisters– Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari, who rose to fame from their epic Bollywood biopic ‘Dangal’. As we know, the movie revolves around the life of the Phogat siblings, who struggled hard to chase their father’s dream and won laurels for India at national and international wrestling events.
The sisters will address the students of JIM, Jaipur on Saturday, in the 4th International conference on youth. The two day youth conference is based on the subject–
“Harnessing youth for development, sustainability and happiness: Imperatives and Challenges for SAARC and Emerging Asian Countries”.
This seminar aims at connecting youth with skill development programs and industries to develop their potential. Through this initiative, the institution aims at creating a platform that brings key members of society together so that they can inspire new ideas in the youngsters.
The Phogat sisters will interact with students on February 18 (Saturday). Other VIPs attending the conference include Sister Jayanti (European Director of Brahma Kumaris) and Raj Pal Singh Shekhawat (Minister of Industries). This conference will entail over 500 participants from around the world, including government officials, prestigious scholars, corporate professionals and academicians.
The celebrity presence will hopefully add to the academic value and underlying ideas of this conference.
