Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje is not known as ‘Rani of Reforms’ for nothing. During past three years of Raje’s rule, Rajasthan witnessed ground-breaking progress in key sectors of development like agriculture, education, water conservation, skill development, digitalisation, infrastructure and air connectivity. Her visionary schemes like Bhamashah, RSLDC, Jal Swavlamban, GRAM, Resurgent Rajasthan, Rajshree Yojana etc. were successful in transforming Rajasthan from a Beemaru (economically and socially backward) state to a progressive, economically sound and fast developing state.

CM Raje’s growing power is evident from her enormous fan following on social networks like Twitter and Facebook. The ironhanded CM boasts a fan following of over 70 lakh followers on Facebook and 9,42,000 on Twitter. Despite winning people’s mandate, CM Raje’s growing popularity spited local leaders like Hanuman Beniwal, Kirodi Lal Meena, Kirodi Singh Bainsla and Ghanshyam Tiwadi, who put in relentless efforts to whet the masses against her.

From whetting the masses in the name of caste to paying local goons for protesting at public gatherings, these self-proclaimed leaders have done everything to defame the government, in past. Something similar happened at Arneshwar Khem Baba’s religious gathering in Barmer district yesterday. A large crowd was congregated on the venue to listen to CM’s address in Barmer. People mounted the rooftops and trucks to listen to Vasundhara Raje.

While the CM was addressing the masses, we saw three to four supporters of Hanuman Beniwal shouting slogans at the rally. The moment was captured in a video that went viral over the social network. Seeing that they were Beniwal supporters, it’s nothing new for us. The reason? Because Beniwal is a controversial leader in Rajasthan. He’s infamous for sprouting nonsense against the public and provoking the Jat communities to fill his caste based vote banks.

Beniwal, an MP from Khinvsar constituency, was a part of BJP government earlier. Nevertheless, he was shown the door by the party high command for his hateful speech. Since last few days, he was lying dormant, probably waiting to seize a perfect opportunity to turn the people against the government. Today, when the Rajasthan state assembly elections 2017 are around the corner, Beniwal used this chance to seek media attention.

Though, his pathetic attempts didn’t yield any results and the notorious Beniwal supporters were removed from the spot. Times have changed today and the public is more vigilant now. People can’t be provoked on the name of caste anymore. They believe in positive outcomes, which were effectively delivered by the Raje government. Considering this fact, leaders like Beniwal must note that only good governance will take them ahead, cheap popularity stunts like this won’t do any good.
