Continuously striving to fulfil the demands of all communities, the Rajasthan Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rajendra Rathore today informed that Gujjar community will be given one percent reservation and the circular mandating the same will be released soon. The circular could not be issued earlier due to legal hurdles. Gujjar Reservation
The Rajasthan government said that the circular mandating one percent reservation to most backward classes (MBC) – inclusive of five communities will be issued on Monday before 5 pm. The other five communities are Banjara, Gadia-Lohar, Raika and Gadariya. The Cabinet had given a nod to the terms in December 2017, after which it was sent to the Governor’s office for final consent.
Withdrawal of 203 criminal cases
To make it more convenient for the Gujjars, the Rajasthan government has also withdrawn 203 complaints lodged against the Gujjar community. Rajendra Rathore informed about the withdrawal while speaking to the delegation of the Gujjar Aarakshan Sangharsh Samiti at a meeting.

It is also known that the Gujjar community is satisfied with the incumbent government which has gone out of its way and resolved issues related to the Devnarayan Scheme, the Gurukul Aawas Yojna. Gujjar Reservation
However, some reports state that the community is making unreasonable more demands, fulfilling which might be unfair to other communities. The crucial point to be noted in the 1% reservation is that it will be subject to 50 percent ceiling mandated by the Supreme Court. Gujjar Reservation
