After the Central Government, the state government of Rajasthan is all ready to bring new rules for Bajri mining (Gravel Mining). The decision to change the policies for bajri mining comes after Supreme Court’s decision to ban Bajri mining in Rajasthan.
The Supreme Court bench of Justice Madan B Lokur and Justice Deepak Gupta issued this ban of mining in Rajasthan.This also leads to ban on 41 blocks of Bajri mining in Rajasthan. As these blocks are not following the environmental norms which leads to environmental damages so this decision was taken.

The problems Rajasthan is facing after this bajri ban
In this decision, the movement of trucks is halt and thousands of labourers lost their jobs across the State. There are several challenges faced by people of Rajasthan due to this ban. Even many construction projects have also been paused for some time. This order to stop mining of bajri will definitely lead to rise in prices of bajri. Well… this also brings about higher prices of houses too.
What is the next step taken by bajri miners of Rajasthan?
To fight the environmental issues related to mining, mining department is asked to study the mining policies of other states. Now, Rajasthan’s bajri mining policies will be decided on the basis of the bets policies for mining.
It is believed when the new policy for bajri mining will be implemented then smuggling can be controlled. Even, the concerns related to environmental damages will be resolved too.
