A sudden activity by a celebrity is followed by limelight for known reasons. Recently it was superstar Amitabh Bachchan who became the fodder for media as he started following Congress leaders on Twitter.
The legendary actor Bollywood Amitabh Bachchan recently started following some senior Congress leaders on Twitter, engendering a speculation about the actor’s sudden interest in the political party.
What’s noteworthy is the fact that Amitabh Bachchan was earlier involved in the party but soon distanced himself from the same in the past.

Amitabh Bachchan started following Congress president Rahul Gandhi and later followed Congress party’s official Twitter handle. Not only this, he then started following senior leaders P Chidambaram, Kapil Sibal, Ahmed Patel, Ashok Gehlot, Ajay Maken, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Sachin Pilot and CP Joshi. These are indeed the most prominent faces of the party.
Manish Tewari, National Spokesperson INC, Information&Broadcasting Minister Govt.of India (2012-14) and a prominent face in the Indian politics even thanked Amitabh Bachchan for following him. This is what he wrote: “Thank you, Sh. Amitabh Bachan for following me and it is my privilege to follow the icon of Indian Cinema who we grew up watching First day First Show Every new release. Those days in late 70’s & early 80’s a Balcony ticket in Chandigarh was Rs.3. Unbelievable today! @SrBachchan.”
Mr. Bachchan also started following other political faces from different parties. JD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, his daughter Misa Bharti, JD(U)’s Nitish Kumar, CPI-M’s Sitaram Yechury. He started following Manish Sisodia, Gopal Rai, Sanjay Singh, Kumar Vishwas and Ashish Khetan from the AAP community.
BJP leaders like Suresh Prabhu and Nitin Gadkari are few of the leaders who are being followed by Amitabh Bachchan. The actor is following the most prominent politicians from almost all political parties. There seems to be something cooking. Doesn’t it?
