Rajasthan’s education levels have elevated with notable changes. Also, the results of competitive MBA entrance exams have shown quite improved results from the state students. Like, for Deepesh Kumar Pugalia (an Albinoid) a commerce student from Commerce College the results came as boon when he saw his name appearing on the list of shortlisted candidates on the IIM website, who will appear for the personal interview round.
Studying for hours was not the only ordeal he went through. The student suffers from Albinism, which drops the eye vision levels by 60-70%, because of which Deepesh had to input extra hours in his study time to get to the score of 97.3 percentile at the recent CAT result which was declared on Monday.
Albinism is a medical condition which is a congenital disorder and affects the presence of pigment in the hair, skin and eyes. As a result, Deepesh has a condition of poor vision which in itself can be a nightmare condition for any student.
On this life achievement, Pugalia expressed, “I had to focus more than other students on study but, I never let my disorder to be a shortcoming”.
As in Albinism the vision levels fall during sunlight, he was not allowed to stretch his study hours after a certain time.
He further added that, “I had to take breaks at regular intervals to regain energy. However, I have made the habit of study while taking short breaks. To understand complex concepts, I use to read it and close my eyes to think and evaluate them”.
Deepesh Pugalia is full of ambition and with his studies, he is also assisting his father in his business. It’s the courage that counts and Deepesh lived up to the standards needed to maintain the morale in such arduous situations.
He expresses it like, “I lived the dream of studying in IIM-A and I am sure to cross the last round”.
