Delhi municipal polls are appearing as deciding factor for AAP and the party at its zenith, BJP. BJP is having a sweep in all three corporations with BJP’s 195 share out of 272 total seats. These polls have kept AAP far away with merely 45 to 55 seats. Congress have not been able to touch even this bar.
The polls done by VMR for Times Now did not lead to a break-up of seats for three of its corporations. BJP’s 195 count secures their win in all the three parts. The voter poll for ABP News forecast says that BJP will register a win of 76 out of 104 seats in the corporation, 60 out of 104 in the South and 43 out of 64 in the East area.
The estimations say that the AAP will register 13 seats in the North area, 21 in the South area and 11 seats in the East area. As per the Times Now poll, Congress is making its total as just 15 for all three corporations. The ABP News poll is counting 26 seats with eight each for East and North and ten in the South.
BJP has got a share of 41.9% as per the opinions of ABP News. This replicates the scenario of 2014 Lok Sabha polls. On the other hand, AAP got 27.5% in these polls which is a mammoth like slide down from 55% which it won in 2015 assembly polls.
Both the polls are giving the decisive mandate for Bhartiya Janta Party which culminates a high level of dissatisfaction for the present in the office. The Times Now Poll calculates that the satisfaction levels with the Delhi government are quite elevated with the MCD.
This manifests the BJP’s successful strategy for competing in these elections on the name of the PM. This also indicates the failure by AAP and Congress to lure the voters on the basis of unmanly and dishonest promises.
