Reservation will now crawl officially into the schools as the reserved category students will get school level caste certificate. Recently, the DEOs (district education officers) have received orders from social justice and empowerment department to provide the certificates in all V standards.
This will be a huge aid to the students and parents who had to make arduous efforts to get their caste certificates done. Officials have mentioned that the reserved category students are not getting the expected benefits of reservation and schemes which have been implied for them.
An official mentioned that, “All children from scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, other backward classes and special backward classes will get caste certificates from the school itself. We have set V standard as the upper limit by which each student who belongs to SC, ST, OBC and SBC should have that document”.
The principle and school head will do the collection of documents from all the SC and ST students and are obliged to submit them to associated state government or revenue department to the valid certificates.
The state government authorities will inspect the documents and will roll out the related certificates within the time period of 30-60 days.
Parents will have to make visits to the office of sub-divisional magistrate/tehsildar for their caste certificate consideration. This has been done because many times, the certificates were not issued because of which students had to face so many issues. In fact, because of this they also faced issues of delay in scholarship.
In the issuance of domicile and caste certificate, the citizens have also complained about the torture and harassment issues by the officials. This new thing will bring rest to all the hassles and students will be able to get their reservation certificates without any issues. This new system will also bring ease in the education system.
