According to an estimate, Rajasthan alone is producing an e-waste of 20,000 tonnes annually. Moreover, according to a survey, the entire country produced a waste of 8 lakh metre tonnes in 2012.
Today as India, UN and other nations of the world observe the World Environment Day, Rajasthan CM Raje urged the city dwellers to become cognizant of their environment. She also noted that the resources of our nature should be judicially utitlised, keeping in mind the needs of the future generations.
She said that protecting the environment is a collective responsibility and the government of Rajasthan is constantly taking serious steps towards creating a sustainable environment. Towards the end, she urged the public to plant trees, boycott plastic products, save electricity water and food. “If our environment ceases to exist, we will also not exist,” CM Raje said while stressing on the importance of the environment in our daily lives.
