When Vasundhara Raje led BJP came to power in 2013, Rajasthan was running into losses. The government inherited nothing but colossal debts, poorly implemented schemes and pending tasks in each sector. Nevertheless, unlike previous government, they didn’t turn their back. Raje took up this formidable challenge to ensure all-round development of Raje. With center’s support, the state had accomplished about 80% of the total objectives. As PM Narendra Modi completes 3 years in the centre, Raje is nearing her fourth year in Rajasthan.

These 3-4 years were a rollercoaster ride of BJP. Nevertheless, the state had successfully overcome all challenges and established commendable milestones in key sectors of development.

Here are 4 major achievements of BJP government in Rajasthan

First All-Women’s Patrol Team in Udaipur & Anti-Romeo Squad in Karauli

Time and again, Rajasthan has effectively proven that its women are nowhere less than men. To ensure safety of fellow women, CM Raje had flagged off India’s first ever women patrol team in Udaipur last October. Raje’s “women in blue” rode bicycles all over the city, keeping an eye on major public places in the ‘City of Palaces’.

Likewise, to discourage eve teasing near girls’ schools and colleges, female cops of Karauli police, dressed in civilian clothes patrolled public places to catch ‘roadside Romeos’ in action.

Rajasthan Contributes a Major Share in National Highways

Being largest state in India, Rajasthan contributes to 75% national highways in the country. The government spent total Rs 6182 crores on RoBs and RuBs, Rs 1977 crores on infrastructure and roads. Currently, the government is working on the ‘Outer Ring Road’ project—a road encircling the Pink City (Jaipur) to resolve connectivity issues.

India’s first Fully Digitized Police Control Room at Jaipur

Rajasthan’s one-of-its-kind, fully-digitized police control room “Abhay command centre” at Jaipur rescues victims within 8 minutes of reporting crime. Furnished with advanced software, traffic management system and Geo-tagged police control vans, their services are comparable to ‘911 emergency services’ of foreign countries.

Bhamashah: Country’s First Biggest Digital System for Direct Delivery of Benefits

In her previous term, CM Vasundhara Raje introduced Bhamashah scheme—a people-centric scheme, which aims at delivering benefits of various government schemes (scholarships, free medical aid, loans for startup, crop loan etc.) directly to the bank accounts of various beneficiaries. The scheme came in handy after demonetization, as Bhamashah card holders swapped cards at ration shops and cooperative societies to buy crops, rations and other knick-knacks.

Barmer Refinery

Rajasthan government’s ambitious oil-manufacturing project—Barmer refinery near Pachpadra is going to be the biggest commercial project of the state. Once completed, the project will yield surplus oil and petro-chemical projects as well as offer employment to 4 lakh youths in the country.

Under expert directions of the central ministers, Raje government is set to achieve major landmarks in other sectors as well.
