A 21-year-old girl, Shikha Tiwari, was arrested by the special operations group (SOG) of the state police for allegedly blackmailing and extorting a sum of Rs 1 crore from an innocent doctor.

Shikha and her mafia gang planned a honeytrap for Dr. Sunil Soni, a city-based hair transplant doctor in December last year. Shikha used to earn a sum of Rs 5 lakh from every dealing.

Dr Soni runs a clinic in Vaishali Nagar, where she was introduced to the doctor for the purpose of hair transplantation. Gradually, Shikha started to trap Soni in her mega honeytrap. He convinced Soni that she is suffering from depression. Shikha requested the doctor to travel to Pushkar with her. Soni flew down to Pushkar, where Shikha started blackmailing him. Shikha’s gang of 32 people groped Soni and demanded Rs 1 crore.

Since December 2016, the SOG had been tracking the culprit whose racket was busted by SOG on December 24, 2016. The racket had entrapped businessman, builders and doctors.

Shikha started working as a disc jockey (DJ) at a Mumbai hotel after she got the news that police had busted the racket.
Shikha had blackmailed the doctor and lodged an FIR against him. Due to the bogus FIR, Soni even had to stay behind the bars for 78 days before being acquitted.

“It was found that the arrested accused, identified as Shikha Tiwari, a native of Jaipur, was part of the gang that we busted in December. After her name cropped up, she disappeared from Jaipur and floated a musical group named DJ Ada,” said Dinesh M N, inspector general of police, SOG, on Monday.

Shikha and her gang demanded ornamental sums of money for withdrawing the bogus rape cases which Shikha and her gang registered with the police.
Although Soni and his family had earlier paid Rs 1 cr so that the FIR is withdrwan, the amount is most likely to be returned to Soni along with due compensation for charges of slander and image tarnishing.
